Chemerinsky + Ferguson = Awesome

After seven hours of Erwin Chemerinsky’s Bar/Bri lecturing on Constitutional Law, two things were clear.

First, the guy knows what he is talking about. Second, he is one of those speakers who has a small repertoire of vocal cadences, manual gestures, and physical postures that seem to run on a perpetual, hypnotic loop. It’s kind of annoying.

So, curious to see if he is always that way, I turned to YouTube. There I discovered a most excellent video of Professor Chemerinsky discussing Executive power and the “war on terror.” Yes, the cadences, gestures, and postures are all the same. Yes, they weird me out. But the dude has some excellent things to say.

Maybe someday the universe will give us someone who has the mind of someone like Professor Chemerinsky put inside the body of someone like Craig Ferguson, whose opening monologues are one of the most invigorating and entertaining things on TV—even when he gets serious.

But not today.

Nevertheless, I thank Professor Chemerinsky for his constitutional law bar review lecture. Once again, I am far more impressed by the law professors who provide the lectures for Bar/Bri than I am by the people in charge of Bar/Bri itself.

Craig Ferguson is hilarious. I didn’t look at Chemerinsky’s video – I’ll take your word for it that he’s annoying.
